Mayo Annex Release Paths

Mayo Correctional Institution Annex is an FDC state prison. It is not an annex of Lafayette County Jail. A sentenced prisoner can leave through sentence expiration, a legally available parole or conditional-release route, transfer to another FDC institution, transfer to another government, or death. An inter-prison move remains FDC custody and must not be called community release.

The DC number connects each part of the state record. Before departure, the Inmate Population search identifies current FDC custody and may show a Current Release Date. After departure, the Released Inmate search can show Release Date and Date Out-Custody. If community supervision follows, the Supervised Population search can add the supervision type, status, dates, and responsible office.

Confirm Mayo Annex Release

The FDC Offender Search menu separates current inmates, released inmates, supervised people, and absconders. Choose the route that matches the question. A county release site or Lafayette Sheriff call cannot supply the controlling state-prison discharge record.

1. Search the FDC Inmate Population route by DC number or carefully matched name to check current custody and institution.
2. If state custody has ended, open the separate Released Inmate Search and match the same DC number.
3. Read Release Date and incarceration-history Date Out-Custody. A future date alone is not actual release.
4. Run the DC number through the Supervised Population search to check for a community term.
5. Review FCOR records when parole, conditional release, or another Commission action is involved.
6. Request the FDC admission-and-release record when formal proof or an unclear field requires agency confirmation.

FDC says released information updates nightly and includes people already released or scheduled for release. That mixed scope makes the historical custody field critical. If search routes disagree, ask FDC to confirm the record rather than choosing the most convenient result.

Read offenses, sentences, county and case fields, and detainers with the dates. They help confirm that the record concerns the correct incarceration period and reveal a possible receiving authority. A photograph can distinguish similar names, but it remains an earlier agency image. It does not prove present appearance, conduct, location, or freedom from another custody system.

Note: FDC’s released search can contain scheduled records, so confirm a completed departure through the custody history.

Mayo Annex Release Search Fields

The released-inmate form accepts last name, first name, or a six-character DC number. The number is the best discriminator when available. Name searches should use verified spelling and should be checked against the record’s identity fields before any dates are attributed to the person.

The FDC Released Inmate Search form is the official entry for a completed Mayo Annex custody episode.

The search form serves all FDC institutions. Facility history and the DC number are needed to connect a result specifically to Mayo Annex.

Request Mayo Annex Release Records

A focused FDC request should provide the committed name, aliases, DC number, date of birth, and a narrow admission or release range. Ask for existing admission-and-release records, incarceration history, release computation material, relevant detainer cancellation, and the photograph if needed and releasable. FDC applies section 945.10 and other exemptions and is not required to create a new record or perform research.

If an FCOR release decision is part of the path, the Commission’s written order or action sheet supplies the decision record. Request it at fcorlegal@fcor.state.fl.us or from FCOR Public Records, 4070 Esplanade Way, Tallahassee, FL 32399-2450. The FCOR records page states that requests can be oral and anonymous, with chargeable copies invoiced before processing.

The Commission agenda is a schedule, not proof of approval, denial, or release. Match any written action to the later FDC custody, released, and supervision entries. Those systems show whether and how the decision was put into effect.

Note: A Commission hearing date is not a release date; the written action and FDC record show the later result.

Mayo Annex Projected Release Date

An active FDC detail can label the calculated field Current Release Date. Florida law also uses maximum sentence expiration date and tentative release date for technical calculations. The current public date can change after gain-time awards or forfeitures, corrected jail credit, new sentences, appellate action, detainers, conditional-release decisions, or administrative review.

Florida Statutes section 944.275 directs FDC’s gain-time framework. For applicable offenses committed on or after October 1, 1995, gain time cannot reduce service below 85 percent of the sentence imposed, with actual physical incarceration credit included. This is a floor, not an automatic 15-percent reduction and not a promise of release on a fixed day.

After the displayed day arrives, return to the released search and look for a past Date Out-Custody. Also check whether another agency received the person.

Mayo Annex Post-Release Supervision

FDC’s Supervised Population search can show a supervision begin date, status, type, scheduled termination date, and current location. Active means the person is supervised in the community. Active Suspense can indicate temporary unavailability, often because of confinement elsewhere. Absconder means whereabouts are unknown and a violation warrant has issued. Neither Active Suspense nor Absconder is a successful discharge.

Lafayette belongs to FDC Circuit 03, Lake City Circuit Office. The circuit spans seven counties and lists several field offices. FDC does not identify one branch as the automatic reporting location for every Lafayette person, so use Current Location on the individual supervision record or call the circuit at 386-362-2878.

FCOR controls parole and specified conditional-release decisions, while FDC carries out community supervision. Florida parole remains limited largely by offense date and defined legacy categories. It is inaccurate to say that every Mayo Annex prisoner is eligible or that Florida has no parole at all.

Mayo Annex Release Record Names

Official FDC audit material says the Annex was built in 2010 and staffed in January 2012, when the older main unit closed and prisoners moved to the Annex. Older records may therefore use inconsistent Mayo names. The current FDC institution detail controls present naming.

FDC currently calls the facility Mayo Correctional Institution Annex and marks Mayo Work Camp as temporarily closed. The work camp is not treated as a separate active facility. When requesting an older release record, provide the DC number and custody dates along with any historical facility wording found in the record.

Note: Use the current Annex name for new requests while including an older Mayo unit name when it appears in historical records.

Mayo Has Two Release Systems

The town of Mayo contains both the Sheriff’s county jail and this FDC state prison. Their records do not merge. A Lafayette County Jail booking number belongs to local custody; a DC number belongs to FDC. A move from the jail to Mayo Annex is transfer, not community release.

The Lafayette County Jail release page covers local booking, bond, court, and Sheriff-record routes. For this institution, remain with FDC current, released, supervised, and records channels. That custody-level distinction is the most important local check.
